Wind Speed

The above scatter plot illustrates that a relationship between wind speed and latitude is highly unlikely. The correlation (as shown in the two graphs below) was very weak. On the day of the analysis, the majority of cities reported wind speeds less than 10 mph, irregardless of latitude. The only locations with with wind speeds in excess of 25 mph were in the Southern Hemisphere below 20 degrees latitude.
